GREENLAND, N.H. — If John Kasich doesn’t do well in New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation primary, the Ohio governor strongly hinted Tuesday that he will end his bid for the White House.
“If I get snuffed out in New Hampshire — ball game over,” the Republican presidential hopeful told voters as he stood by the fire inside Molly’s Tavern.

Kasich’s humility was also on full display Tuesday when he discussed waking up to see the Concord Monitor had endorsed him just hours after he’d received an endorsement from the Boston Globe.
“For little old me?” Kasich quipped, minutes after claiming he was “shocked” by both papers’ support.
“When I got up this morning, I didn’t call anybody, I just thought about it,” Kasich later told reporters. “I thought about what has been happening here.”
“I don’t know how it’s all going to turn out, but, you know, it’s really been great,” he said.
Kasich is currently polling third in New Hampshire according to a Boston Herald/Franklin Pierce University poll released Monday evening. Instead of spending caucus night in Iowa, the two-term governor will return to New Hampshire where his campaign has bet it all.
