With a $2 billion deficit looming, what would you cut from the state budget?
We’d like to hear from The Examiner readers.
Serious replies only. Firing the governor or cutting everybody’s salary are not really viable options, much as they might vent your anger.
We promise to report on the serious ideas for budget cuts that could be done, even if politically unlikely.
For instance, why should the state spend money on U.S. veterans, other than its own National Guard members? Last week, a $3 million contract was approved to expand a state veterans’ cemetery by 10,000 plots.
Or why should the state continue to support stem cell research, when Barack Obama has promised to lift restrictions on federal aid?
