Ahead of his home state’s crucial vote Tuesday, film director Spike Lee has put together a new campaign ad urging people to support Sen. Bernie Sanders.

The ad, titled “Wake Up,” features prominent African Americans and Hispanics urging people to support Sanders and his message of income inequality. The ad comes before New York’s crucial primary on Tuesday, with many polls showing Sanders behind.

“We need you New Yorkers,” said actress Rosario Dawson in the ad, which splices footage from a campaign rally with footage of supporters speaking about the Vermont senator in a gymnasium.

By featuring prominent African Americans, the ad seeks to make inroads with a demographic bloc that has broken sharply for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Sanders has won seven of the last eight primary contests, but still drags behind Clinton in the pledged delegate total.

Lee, the Oscar-winning director of films such as “Do the Right Thing”, endorsed Sanders in February.

“Hey Bernie from Brooklyn, talk to the people!” Lee said, concluding the video.
