Joe Scarborough: Trump once ‘screamed’ at Spicer for being ‘too weak’

On MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” host Joe Scarborough, citing an anonymous White House source, recalled a time that President Trump yelled at press secretary Sean Spicer for being “too weak” while delivering a statement on his behalf.

Scarborough said Wednesday that the incident occurred on Inauguration Day, after Spicer delivered a much-criticized statement that disputed reports over the crowd size that turned out for the event in Washington, D.C.

“After Sean finished his press conference that you’re screaming at us about,” Scarborough said his source told him, “he then went into the Oval Office and the president screamed at him for being too weak. And then screamed at him for wearing a light suit.”

Scarborough said at that time, Spicer should have resigned from the position as White House press secretary.

The Washington Examiner has reached out to the White House for comment.

Scarborough’s comments came a day after Spicer was in the middle of controversy over telling a reporter during a White House press briefing to “please stop shaking your head again” as he attempted to answer her questions.

Other reporters suggested that the moment was condescending to journalist April Ryan.
