The retiring Michigan representative is thanking fellow anti-abortion Democrats who aided him in gaining restrictions on abortion funding in the health care bill with a wave of 26 campaign contributions totaling $35,000. In addition to six representatives who worked with Stupak on the abortion restriction and his own possible successor, Stupak is handing out cash to Michigan state Rep. Gary McDowell and a number of vulnerable Democratic incumbents elsewhere. Stupak still has $137,000 remaining in his campaign account.
