NBC Chief White House Correspondent Chuck Todd and White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel were spotted at the Oval Room on Monday afternoon sitting down for lunch.
For a starter, both ordered white asparagus soup and then Todd went on to the tuna tartare and Emanuel went with a chicken Caesar salad. The restaurant manager told Yeas & Nays they specifically requested for “an area where they could talk” (away from the common folk, that is).
“It’s a lovely status symbol for both of them,” a fellow member of the White House press corps told Yeas & Nays, noting most don’t get the chance to dine casually with top administration officials.
Neither the White House nor Todd responded to an e-mail from Yeas & Nays for comment.
