Nextgov, a news website focused on government information technology, is launching a new policy blog helmed by journalist Frank Konkel.
The blog, Emerging Tech, will home in on issues that have grown in relevance due to the hacking of government systems and “net neutrality,” an issue championed by President Obama.
The Twitter feed and YouTube accounts of U.S. Central Command — which controls all U.S. troops in the Middle East and south Asia — were hijacked Monday by hackers claiming to be from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
Konkel told the Washington Examiner media desk that the blog will also post on cybersecurity, emerging government technology and digital surveillance.
Konkel is based in Washington, D.C.
