Jeb Bush super PAC up with first ad

The super PAC supporting Jeb Bush started spending some of its money Wednesday, launching its first advertisement since the former Florida governor entered the presidential contest in mid June.

Right to Rise USA, run out of Los Angeles by Bush confidant and political strategist Mike Murphy, is up with a digital ad targeting Republicans and independent voters in Iowa and New Hampshire, the states that vote first and second on the GOP presidential primary calendar. The 30-second video spot is a positive ad that is a collection of clips from Bush’s speech on June 15 speech in Miami when he declared his presidential candidacy.

The super PAC declined to provide the cost of this digital ad-buy, but said it would run through July 1. Bush spent six months traveling the country raising money for Right to Rise, and some GOP insiders estimate it could report raising $100 million when it files its second quarter report with the Federal Election Commission at month’s end. Now that Bush is an official presidential candidate, neither he nor his Miami-based campaign can coordinate with the super PAC, which registered as Right to Rise USA once Bush declared.
