Greta Van Susteren joins MSNBC

Former Fox News primetime anchor Greta Van Susteren is joining MSNBC, the cable channel announced Thursday.

Van Susteren, who left Fox in September, will host a 6 p.m. program called “For the Record with Greta.”

The show will cover and analyze politics “and beyond,” according to MSNBC’s announcement.

“Greta is a true pro with a proven record of tough journalism,” said MSNBC President Phil Griffin. “Her broad range of experience and sharp news judgment will be of great value to MSNBC as we build on our momentum going into a new year and a new administration.”

Van Susteren said MSNBC “is the right destination for the smart news and analysis I hope to deliver every day, and I look forward to joining the talented journalists and analysts I respect there.”

Before her tenure at Fox, Van Susteren was also a correspondent for CNN.
