Watch lawmakers read mean tweets about themselves

There are oodles of Twitter users who bash others — but sometimes, those insults make their way to that person, regardless of who they are.

House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif, were two of the lawmakers picked to read mean tweets about themselves in a video to promote the 2015 Radio and Television Correspondents Association Dinner.

The video was released Wednesday on the eve of the dinner, which presents awards to journalists for their work in the news industry.

Rep. Kevin McCarty, R-Calif, and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., also read some of the messages to them from the Twitterverse.

The video is a play on “Jimmy Kimmel Live’s” “Mean Tweets” series in which people ranging from musicians to actors to even President Obama read mean tweets about themselves.
