Reuters reports that:
Former New York governor Eliot Spitzer, whose political ascent came to a halt five years ago in a prostitution scandal, lost his bid for a political comeback on Tuesday.
His concession was, evidently, as gracious as one might expect. Spitzer spoke for:
… less than two minutes, [saying] he would find different ways to serve the public.
“For me, politics was never a profession, it was a cause,” he said at his campaign party as about 150 supporters cheered.

Meanwhile, voters also passed on the chance to keep the Anthony Weiner carnival going and give comics a steady source of material. Mr. Weiner also made a gracious exit from the campaign and, one hopes, politics.
