For Dems, The Boss means bucks

Thanks to some shenanigans by Ticketmaster, tickets to Monday night’s Bruce Springsteen show at Verizon Center were notoriously hard to come by. But not if you were a Democratic donor with some money in your checking account.

According to the fundraiser database compiled by the Sunlight Foundation, four Democratic House members raised cash at the sold-out show. Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-Ore., charged $1,000 for an individual or $2,500 for a PAC; Reps. Patrick Murphy, D-Pa., and Dutch Ruppersburger, D-Md., asked donors to pony up $1,500 for individuals or $2,500 for PACs. The American College of Radiology, throwing the event for Rep. Ron Kind, D-Wis., charged the most: $2,500 per ticket. But at least they included a preconcert reception across the street at Rosa Mexicano.

Call it the members’ “Beautiful Reward” for all their hard work.
