KISS bassist Gene Simmons may be getting into the presidential punditry game. Several tweets indicate that he sees Rick Perry making headway in the race for president, and he might actually be onboard with the Texas conservative. “I voted for Pres Bush. I voted for Pres Clinton. I voted for Pres Obama. The next president will be Gov Rick Perry,” he tweeted on Aug. 16, adding later that he “never stated” who he’d vote for in the next election. He added on Thursday that he disagrees with Perry on social issues, but agrees with him on fiscal issues, and “Unless Pres Obama proves himself, the next Pres will be Gov Perry.”
Not only that, but Simmons has a suggestion for the Perry camp on who might make a good running mate — former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. “Met her in Stockholm & she struck me as politically savvy as anyone I’ve met in gov’mt,” he tweeted on Thursday. “She won’t run for VP, but this ticket is a winner.”
