Chef Michel Richard knows how to let the good times roll, and he appears to be on a pretty good one.
Back in October, the James Beard award winning chef opened Michel, his third fine-dining establishment in the metropolitan area, at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner. With that well underway, he’s getting ready to roll out another. But this time, the culinary star is taking his act on the road and has announced that his next restaurant, Central 24/7, will make its dining debut — in Sin City.
“Vegas is an exciting town. It’s busy and I am very excited to be part of it. I have so many friends here with restaurants, I love the shows. Maybe I’ll be a great show too,” Richard told Yeas & Nays on Tuesday afternoon.
Central 24/7 will be inside of the Caesars Palace hotel will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu will feature some of Central’s favorites like the fried chicken, razor clam chowder and fresh oysters, keeping with the chef’s concept of serving simple food at a good price. As the name suggests, the eatery will stay open 24 hours a day.
“I want people in line all day,” Richard said.
This is Richard’s first 24-hour restaurant and he tells us he’ll spend a couple of days a month in Vegas making sure it’s operating smoothly. “It is tough to keep control of a restaurant 24 hours a day,” he says. Knowing Richard, we bet he will have Lady Luck on his side.
Central 24/7 is scheduled to open in late summer of 2011.
