Oprah Winfrey has landed the first daytime interview with former President George W. Bush.
According to the New York Times, the talk show queen will be the second television personality to interview Bush about his new book, “Decision Points.”
“Today Show” host Matt Lauer snagged the first prime-time sit-down one on one. Lauer’s interview is set to air Nov. 8 and Oprah’s will be broadcast Nov. 9, the same day of the book release.
The memoir, which is published by Crown, is based on “the 14 most critical and historic decisions in the life and public service of the 43rd president of the United States.”
President Bush last appeared as a guest on Oprah when he was running for president in 2000. Winfrey was active and made several appearances showing her support for President Obama during his campaign in 2008.
