Cruz asks FAA about Ebola travel restrictions

Sen. Ted Cruz wants to know what the Federal Aviation Administration is doing to stop more people with Ebola from entering the United States.

In a letter to FAA Administrator Michael Huerta, the Texas Republican demands assurance that the FAA is taking “every available precaution in preventing additional cases from arriving” in the U.S.

Cruz cited airlines that have restricted or banned air travel to countries with Ebola, such as British Airways, Emirates and Kenya Airways, asking if the U.S. will be next.

He also asked if passengers will be notified if they flew on a flight with anyone later confirmed to have Ebola — clearly referencing Thomas Eric Duncan, who flew from Liberia to Dallas, Texas.
