‘Wings’ actor discusses Breitbart’s relationship with celebrity

He’s a known liberal, but “Wings” actor Steven Weber says he still considers conservative author Andrew Breitbart a friend.

In Washington Tuesday, Weber discussed Breitbart’s recent media appearance on C-SPAN, in which Breitbart was asked about his “relationship with alcohol.” While Breitbart had discussed his partying days at Tulane University in his new book “Righteous Indignation,” he was caught off guard by the inquiry and equated the question to asking President Obama about his relationship with cocaine.

Weber called the question fair game.

“If you had Andrew Breitbart on one hand and Barack Obama on the other, [Obama’s] attributes are superior to [Breitbart’s],” Weber said. “Breitbart made his bones on decrying Hollywood celebrity, but now he’s a celebrity. And you know what, his life is an open book and people are going to go for it,” Weber added.

Weber was joined by other members of the Creative Coalition and the folks at CQ Press for the launch of “First Street,” an online researching tool that tracks relationships between government officials and lobbyists.

Those walking the red carpet included “She’s All That” actress Rachael Leigh Cook, “That ‘70s Show’s” Wilmer Valderrama, Andrea Bowen of “Desperate Housewives,” CCH Pounder of “Avatar,” and Laura Innes of “E.R.”
