Gingrich tweets, and detweets, about Pearl Harbor books

Former House Speaker and potential presidential candidate Newt Gingrich tried using Twitter, and the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack, to pimp his historical fan fiction. It didn’t go well. “The 69th anniversary of the japanese attack is a good time to remind folks of our novel pearl harbor and the days of infamy newt,” Gingrich tweeted on Tuesday. He later deleted the tweet, after the Twitterverse objected to Gingrich using a national tragedy’s anniversary for promotional purposes, and the gossip website Wonkette called him out on it.

Gingrich’s “Pearl Harbor: A Novel of December 8th” is an alternative version of history looking at what might have happened had Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor been much more severe. “Days of Infamy” is its sequel.

Gingrich declined to comment to Yeas & Nays.
