Prince, who was in Washington, D.C. for two of his own concerts, gave a private VIP performance at the White House.
The singer played a two-hour concert Saturday night to celebrate African-American Music Appreciation Month, attended by President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, their daughters Sasha and Malia and another 500 guests, according to the New York Post’s Page Six.
Prince also brought up fellow singer Stevie Wonder up onstage for a surprise duet during the show, according to sources.
Guests included celebrities like Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his date, singer Ciara, artists Jon Bon Jovi and James Taylor, TV & film stars Tyler Perry, Connie Britton, Angela Bassett, Gayle King and Tracee Ellis Ross, fashion designer Naeem Khan and J.Crew’s Jenna Lyons.
Former Attorney General Eric Holder, Education Secretary Arne Duncan and National Security Advisor Susan Rice were also in attendance.
“DJ Cassidy took over after the show and spun tunes for the rest of the night,” Page Six wrote.
Though the White House was relatively quiet about the concert, the performance was said to have been in the East Room.
