Leahy, McCain tops in movie cameos by pols

Silver hair, silver screen

Earlier this month, we told you about Spout.com’s list of the top ten fictitious film presidents in history. Now, the Web site comes back with the top ten film cameos by actual politicians.

No. 1 is none other than John McCain for his scene in “Wedding Crashers” where he shakes hands with Jane Seymour and Christopher Walken at their daughter’s wedding.

The most recent appearance by a pol to make the list? That would be Sen. Patrick Leahy, who checks in at No. 3 for his work standing up to the Joker in this summer’s blockbuster “The Dark Knight.”

Also making the cut: Sen. Chris Dodd in “Dave,” former Sen. Al D’Amato in “The Devil’s Advocate,” Rudy Giuliani in “The Out-of-Towners,” Ed Koch in “The Muppets Take Manhattan,” Jim Garrison in “JFK,” John F. Kennedy in “Forrest Gump,” George W. Bush in “Death of a President,” and Gerald Ford in “The Bees.”
