Secret Service agent arrested for sending explicit texts, photos

A White House Secret Service officer was arrested for attempting to send nude photos of himself to someone he believed was a 14-year-old girl in Delaware, according to a criminal complaint unsealed Thursday.

The complaint was filed through the U.S. District Court for Delaware on Monday, and Lee Robert Moore turned himself into authorities that day.

Moore, 37, is accused of taking part in online chats with a Delaware State Police detective acting as a female minor that included sending naked photos of himself and asking to meet in person to have sex.

“The Secret Service takes allegations of potential criminal activity extremely seriously,” an agency spokeswoman said in a statement Thursday afternoon.

According to the complaint, Moore waived his Miranda rights and confessed to participating in the incidents. His security clearance has been suspended and he has been placed on administrative leave.
