NRSC airs three new ads in battlegrounds

The National Republican Senatorial Committee on Tuesday released new campaign ads targeting North Carolina, Arkansas and Colorado, which are three of the most contested Senate races.

With little more than a month before the Nov. 4 election, both parties are battling over control of the Senate, where a net gain of six seats will give the GOP the majority.

One of the Republican ads portrays incumbent Sen. Mark Pryor, a Democrat from Arkansas, as someone who has voted contrary to the needs of his state, including his support of measures to add government regulation and raise energy rates.

A second ad will run in Colorado depicting Democratic Sen. Mark Udall as someone who is only focused on divisive politics and the so-called “war on women,” and not important issues like the growing threat of Islamic terrorists in the Middle East. The ad quotes Udall declaring Islamic terrorists do not pose an imminent threat to the United States.

A third ad questions the accomplishments of Sen. Kay Hagan, a Democrat from North Carolina. “Many women can’t think of a single thing she’s accomplished in five years,” the ad claims.

The NRSC, which is the Republican Senate’s fundraising arm, said Tuesday that Democrats “will outspend Republicans in battleground Senate races across the map,” with an advantage of more than $5 million in Michigan, $4 million in Colorado, $4.5 million in North Carolina, $3.5 million in Virginia, $2 million in Minnesota, $1.7 million in New Hampshire and $1.6 million in Iowa.
