Video: U.S. troops sing ’12 days of Christmas’

Defense Secretary Ash Carter and his wife Stephanie are singing “The 12 Days of Christmas” to celebrate the holidays — but they aren’t alone.

After starting the song, service members stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as on the U.S.S. Kearsarge, do the rest.

French armed forces members from on board the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf — Carter visited the ship Saturday — do the honors of belting the “three French hens” part of the song.

The song concludes with roughly a dozen soldiers stationed in Iraq caroling “and a partridge in a pear tree.”
