Cameras, not stars, come to town for ‘G.I. Joe’ shoot

Washington’s landmarks and streetscapes will be making cameos in the upcoming “G.I. Joe” sequel, but the stars themselves — Bruce Willis, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Channing Tatum — didn’t return Washington the favor. Last weekend the production filmed several scenes in the District, including shots of the Capitol building and other iconic landmarks, according to the D.C. Film Office. Unfortunately for us, none of the lead actors was in tow. The movie is set to be released next summer.
