Donald Trump called 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney a “stiff” Thursday morning, as part of a series of attacks Trump made in anticipation of Romney calling Trump a “phony” and a “liar.”
“Mitt Romney is a stiff,” Trump said, phoning into NBC’s “Today” Thursday morning. “Mitt Romney will not get elected. Mitt Romney failed twice and really failed last time. He was going against a president that should have been beaten.”
Trump blasted Romney as a “failed” and a “horrible candidate,” four years after Trump endorsed Romney. Trump also asserted that Romney disappeared in the months before the general election in 2012.
“This guy disappeared. He went away,” Trump said. “And he got killed. He got decimated in the election.”
Why did Mitt Romney BEG me for my endorsement four years ago?

I am the only one who can beat Hillary Clinton. I am not a Mitt Romney, who doesn’t know how to win. Hillary wants no part of “Trump”

I have brought millions of people into the Republican Party, while the Dems are going down. Establishment wants to kill this movement!

Failed candidate Mitt Romney, who ran one of the worst races in presidential history,is working with the establishment to bury a big “R” win!

The interview followed Trump’s early Thursday morning tweetstorm, in which he said Romney “ran one of the worst races in presidential history” and said “the establishment” is working to bring down his campaign.
