15-year-old Georgia boy arrested for death threats against Trump

A 15-year-old boy in Georgia was arrested Friday for threatening online to kill Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Meriwether County Sheriff Chuck Smith confirmed Friday afternoon that police had taken the teenager into custody. The suspect, whose name was withheld because he is a minor, was charged with terroristic threats and acts, though officials have not disclosed additional details.

Smith said the threat was reported to the FBI Hotline, which subsequently contacted the U.S. Secret Service and the Meriwether sheriff’s department.

The teen is being held at the Columbus Regional Youth Detention Center until his hearing in juvenile court.

It’s the second arrest of a minor that Georgia police have made this week following a death threat against the GOP front-runner, who has had Secret Service protection since early November.
