The ventriloquist Jeff Dunham and his “little people in boxes” dropped a few lines at the National Press Club on Tuesday night.
Although Dunham has been performing since the late 1980s, a YouTube clip of puppet character “Achmed the Dead Terrorist” catapulted his talent into an international sensation.
Achmed and the “beer-drinking redneck” Bubba J practiced their jokes for “The Jay Leno Show,” which will air Oct. 15.
If you missed the live show, Dunham and his dummies will make a regular appearance on Comedy Central’s “The Jeff Dunham Show,” which premieres Oct. 22.
