Stephen Colbert doesn’t like bears, but he apparently does like the great outdoors.
A week after “The Colbert Report” host’s debacle on Capitol Hill, the comedian once again comes out to advance a political cause. Colbert has joined America’s Great Outdoors Initiative, an Obama administration project that calls for a “new, bold plan for water and land conservation.”
Colbert’s role is simple — his face, one eyebrow raised, is being use to decorate the group’s Web site and e-cards to help spread word of the campaign.
Someecards, the sarcastic and often inappropriate e-card Web site, also has partnered with the organization and is heavily promoting a Colbert e-card.
“I am something of an outdoorsman in that I occasionally go out of doors — to hail a cab, let’s say,” reads the card, quoting Colbert. “But there are parts of this great nation that don’t have asphalt. I encourage you to go and explore them (But watch out for bears!),” it reads.
