Peggy Noonan suggests Kasich as Trump’s VP

Wall Street Journal columnist and former Reagan speechwriter threw Ohio Gov. John Kasich’s name into the mix as a potential running-mate for Donald Trump.

In her latest op-ed, the conservative writer said Trump’s selection for vice president will have to be someone who balances out his flashy, aggressive campaign style.

“What he needs is Stable Man or Stable Woman,” she wrote. “He needs someone with real and obvious political accomplishment — a longtime senator or, less attractively, a representative, or a governor, preferably a current one. John Kasich says he isn’t interested, but maybe he will get interested. Newt Gingrich is on the list, which is understandable in many respects, but he has the same slightly mad quotient as Mr. Trump. Mr. Trump needs ‘He’s not crazy.'”

Trump has said he wants a running mate who can help him with the politics of Congress.

He has also said he does not plan on announcing his pick until the Republican National Convention in late July.

Kasich withdrew from the Republican presidential race in early May.
