Obama aces his last White House physical

President Obama is in “excellent” health and all tests indicate that he “will remain so for the duration of his presidency,” the White House physician, Dr. Ronny Jackson, wrote on Tuesday about Obama’s fourth and final presidential physical that was conducted last month.

“The president continues to focus on healthy lifestyle choices,” Jackson wrote. “He eats a healthy diet, remains tobacco free and only drinks alcohol occasionally and in moderation. He continues to exercise daily with a focus on aerobic fitness and resistance weight training.”

Obama’s weight and body-mass index put him in the “healthy” category and well below the national average, as determined by the Centers for Disease Control. At 110/68, his blood pressure is “normal,” as defined by the American Heart Association. And standing more than 6’1″ he is more than four inches taller than the average American man.

At 54 and a half years old, the president still has 20/20 vision, no heart problems and healthy cholesterol levels.

Vitamin D is the only supplement Obama takes, while Nexium for “occasional” acid reflux is the only prescription and nicotine gum — for “occasional use” — is his only over-the-counter aid.
