‘Black Swan’ guy likes Ron Paul

When it comes to big name endorsements it seems that the Ron Paul campaign is grasping at…black feathers?

The Texas Congressman’s campaign put out a release earlier this week advertising the fact that the author of “Black Swan” supported Paul’s economic platform. But it’s not the “Black Swan” most Americans immediately think of — someone from Darren Aronofsky‘s creepy Oscar-winning ballet drama starring Natalie Portman. Instead the campaign was touting that author Nassim Taleb, who wrote the 2007 best-selling philosophy book “The Black Swan,” had positive things to say about Paul.

“We’re overjoyed that best-selling author of ‘The Black Swan’ Nassim Taleb gave such a ringing endorsement of Ron Paul’s economic policy prescriptions for our ailing economy,” said campaign chairman Jesse Benton in a statement.

And if you think this might be a good catch, perhaps think again. Besides “Black Swan,” Taleb is known for his mastery of writing incredibly arrogant tweets, so much in fact, that Business Insider wrote an entire piece on his “absurdly arrogant” Twitterfeed.
