John Kasich is pitching his two victories in Ohio gubernatorial elections as a central reason why he should be the GOP nominee for president.
No Republican has ever won the White House without winning Ohio.
“I’m from Ohio, she will be not beat me there, I can promise you that,” Kasich says of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in a new ad.
The ad, “Only,” starts off with a nightmare scenario for most Republicans: Wolf Blitzer of CNN projecting that Hillary Clinton has won Ohio, and is thus projected to be president-elect of the United States. The screen flashes, “Win Ohio. Stop Hillary.”
Kasich has begun spending on advertisements in earnest in 2016, especially in New Hampshire.
