Newt Gingrich returns to Fox News

In a 2013 authorized biography on Roger Ailes, the Fox News CEO is quoted as calling former House Speaker and Fox contributor Newt Gingrich a “prick” and a “sore loser.”

Despite these tough words, Politico reported on Friday that Gingrich has returned to Fox as a contributor after a two-year stint with CNN.

Gingrich was a contributor with Fox prior to his unsuccessful run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012. The network severed ties with him, as is policy, and as the primary wore on, Gingrich turned to criticizing Fox as biased in favor of eventual GOP nominee Mitt Romney.

“I think Fox has been for Romney all the way through,” Gingrich said in April 2012, according to Real Clear Politics.

A spokesperson for Fox did not return a request for comment from the Washington Examiner media desk.
