While former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum’s only big celebrity nod thus far has come from Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar of the TLC show “19 Kids and Counting,” that endorsement has paid off in more ways than one. Mainly — lots of free labor.
Yeas & Nays talked to mom and dad Duggar Friday at CPAC, while they signed copies of their book “A Love that Multiplies,” and they explained that their kids, all 19 of them, have hit the campaign trail for their favorite GOP candidate. “We started out helping Rick Santorum campaign in Iowa, we went up there and worked for a couple days and it was so exciting to see him win that, and several of our kids went over to South Carolina and worked for a couple of weeks, and went down to Florida for a couple of weeks,” Jim Bob Duggar said. “The whole month of January they’ve been helping the Rick Santorum for President Campaign.” Before CPAC, all 19 kids (even the baby) were with Santorum in Oklahoma, while Jim Bob and Michelle headed to Washington, though Jim Bob was without the prerequisite uniform. “I don’t have a sweater vest, but that’s my next investment,” he laughed.

Both Duggars believed that Tuesday’s wins signified that Santorum was marching toward the nomination. “I believe that Rick Santorum is going to pull through,” Michelle Duggar said. “The more people talk, tweet, Facebook, that’s going to be the difference.”And if he doesn’t, the Duggars know exactly what they are going to do. “You know I think we’d just have to pray about that and take that step by step,” Jim Bob Duggar said.
