Willliam Shakespeare wax figure to commemorate Shakespeare Theatre Company anniversary

The Shakespeare Theatre Company and Madame Tussauds will be combining efforts to celebrate the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s 25th anniversary by putting a wax figure of William Shakespeare on display in D.C. According to a release, the first Shakespeare figure was sculpted by Madame Tussauds in 1819 then and re-sculpted for Madame Tussauds London in 1951 and again 42 years later.

The most recent edition of Shakespeare will be on display at the Company’s Sidney Harman Hall through May 31, 2012.
