Flay wants to put Obama’s taste buds to work

In a city bursting with burger joints, how does new-kid-on-the-block Bobby Flay plan to win over the burger eater-in-chief? By putting the POTUS to work, of course.

“I actually cooked with the president at the White House, so I’m hoping he has fond memories of that from Father’s Day a couple years ago and he’ll come over and give our burger a try,” Flay told Yeas & Nays. “We have burgers from all over the country here, we need a Washington burger, so maybe I can talk to the president about what he thinks the Washington burger should be,” the famed chef and TV host added.

The “Throwdown with Bobby Flay” star spent all day Tuesday at the new K Street location of his national chain Bobby’s Burger Place, taking pictures with fans and signing autographs. When the restaurant opened for lunch, Flay said there were probably 400 people outside. “It’s nice that, you know, it seems that Washington, D.C., is at least going to give us a try, that’s all that we can ask for,” Flay said.
