Donald Trump continues to hold onto his lead in Iowa over Ted Cruz with less than two months to go until the caucuses, according to a new CNN poll.
Trump, who leads with 33 percent backing, has recently been under siege by Cruz, who polls in second with 20 percent support. In the latest Monmouth University poll released earlier Monday, Cruz topped Trump, 24-19.
In the CNN poll, Trump receives an eight-point bump (from 25 to 33) since their latest poll released in early November. Meanwhile, Cruz continued to surge in the Hawkeye State, jumping from 11 to 20 percent support.
However, struggles in the state continue for Ben Carson, who sits at 16 percent in the survey. The former neurosurgeon saw a seven-point fall in the poll, having previously sat alongside Trump with 23 percent.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is the only other candidate in double digits with 11 percent.
Trump also leads in the Washington Examiner‘s most recent batch of power rankings.
