Adult film star Stormy Daniels has taken another step toward running for Senate in Louisiana. Two weeks after embarking on a Hillary Clinton-esque “listening tour” around the state, Daniels on Thursday announced the formation of an official exploratory committee.
A Baton Rouge native, Daniels has been buoyed by a “Draft Stormy” movement in recent months, encouraging her to run against incumbent Republican David Vitter.
“I do not take this step lightly,” said Daniels in a release. “While I have been humbled by the overwhelmingly positive response my potential candidacy has generated thus far, my decision to run for United States Senate will only be made after I have had the opportunity to discuss this prospect with as many people across the state as possible. Too many in government ignore the voices of those whom they claim to represent. I promise you that I will not.
“Forming this committee will allow me to raise the funds necessary to explore a possible run and will provide Louisianans an opportunity to continue sharing with me their concerns and ideas.”
Stormy (she has said she’s in the process of legally changing her name legally, so we’ll go with that) isn’t a total stranger to Washington. The star of “Operation: Desert Stormy” and scores of other films has made trips here to speak on the importance of protecting kids from adult content on the Internet.
