Cruz suggests prison for Clinton

Ted Cruz on Monday implied that if given the opportunity, he will take Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton out of the public eye once and for all.

“I’ve got slightly different government housing in mind for her,” Cruz told a rally for his presidential campaign in Irvine, Calif., in reference to the prospect of Clinton entering the White House. He did not elaborate on what he had in mind, though past comments make it clear. He said in March that he would “absolutely” seek to prosecute Clinton if the current Justice Department refuses to do so.

Clinton is under an FBI investigation for her misuse of a private email server to handle classified information as secretary of state. The highest possible sentence under an applicable law is 10 years in prison, though experts say that’s not likely.

Two of the three remaining Republican presidential candidates have said they would pursue Clinton’s indictment if they are elected. Party front-runner Donald Trump was the first to say he would pursue that course of action, saying at a Fox News townhall, “You have to.”
