Forget the Obama administration’s much-maligned effort to “degrade and ultimately destroy” the Islamic State.
In a new radio ad released Thursday, Republican candidate Donald Trump promised to use brutal force against the terrorist group.
“Donald Trump will protect Israel, and brutally and quickly cut the head off of ISIS,” a female narrator says in the new spot.
Trump’s new ads are set to hit the airwaves in early voting states, and he spent $300,000 on his first effort at campaign ads. He also promises to be tough on immigration and trade.
“He’ll stop illegal immigration and drug trafficking by building a wall on our southern border. And he will make Mexico pay for it,” the ad said. “He will negotiate great trade deals and make our military so strong no country will ever mess with us.”
“Donald Trump is running for president because politicians are all talk and no action. They will never make our country great again,” the narrator added.
“It’s time to make America great again,” it concluded. “Maybe greater than ever before. Vote Donald Trump for president.”
In a second ad, which will air exclusively in the Hawkeye State, Trump himself makes a personal pitch to voters, telling them that his opponents have “no experience in creating jobs or making deals.” In the spot, Trump touts many of the same issues in the first ad, though he touches on a few other subjects, such as helping veterans, guns and Obamacare.
“I’ll take care of our veterans and make our military so strong that nobody will mess with us,” Trump says. “I’ll secure our borders, and yes, we will have a wall. You can’t have a country without borders.”
“And I’ll make sure that the Second Amendment and our religious liberties are protected,” he said. “Obamacare is a total disaster, it will be repealed and replaced with something much better.”
“If the people of Iowa vote for me, you’ll never be disappointed. I don’t disappoint people,” Trump said. “I produce. Together we’re going to make America great again.”
