Poll: Clinton falls, Carson surges

Hillary Clinton hit record low favorability ratings in the latest Fox News poll that revealed GOP candidate Ben Carson had soared to an all time high.

Seventy-one percent of registered Democratic voters now have an “unfavorable” view of the Democratic front-runner, whereas only 23 percent of Democratic voters view her favorably. Among all registered voters, 56 percent have an unfavorable view of Clinton.

The continuing negative developments in the former secretary of state’s email scandal have hurt her trustworthiness and likability among voters, as she keeps getting caught in missteps.

In contrast with Clinton’s decline, Carson’s favorability rating continued to soar as he quietly climbs in the polls behind Republican front-runner Donald Trump. The pediatric neurosurgeon received the best net favorability score among all voters as well as self-identified Republicans, with a 66 percent favorability rating among Republicans, and a 46 percent favorability rating amongst all voters. Only 14 percent of GOP voters view Carson negatively whereas 27 percent of all voters see him unfavorably. Carson currently sits fourth in the Washington Examiner‘s presidential power rankings.

While Trump currently leads the Republican party, his numbers prove him to be very polarizing, as he also had the worst overall net score in terms of favorability among voters with only 34 percent liking him and 59 percent seeing him unfavorably.

The poll was conducted from September 20th-22nd by Fox News among 1,013 randomly chosen voters nationwide, with a margin or error of plus or minus 3 percent for all voters and 4.5-5 percent amongst Democratic and Republican voters.
