That’s Nuts: White House serves acorn-shaped cookies

While the president has tried to steer clear of all things ACORN, the White House kitchen apparently didn’t get the memo.

At last week’s holiday party for Congress, chocolate acorn-shaped cookies were served, delighting at least one House member.

“I didn’t expect to see such stark symbolism,” Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, told Fox News via e-mail. King grabbed up a few cookies and kept them as souvenirs, and also touted news coverage of his discovery on his Facebook page.

“I couldn’t bring myself to bite into one of them,” he told Yeas & Nays, saying instead he had an “inventory” in his freezer.

King has been trying to get Congress to investigate the controversial community organizing group, which Obama worked with in the 1990s, but without much luck. ACORN got a lot of flak this year after two conservative activists dressed up like a pimp and a prostitute convinced ACORN workers to go along with their illegal plans.
