He may have been half-joking, but Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., the top-ranking Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee, raised a few eyebrows Wednesday when he said he’d like to launch an investigation into whoever has been impersonating him and fooling Rep. Spencer Bachus, R-Ala., into thinking that the two lawmakers have been talking closely about fixes to the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform bill that was signed into law in July 2010. Although the two talked weeks ago about interchange fees, Frank said that’s been the extent of the lawmakers’ negotiations so far.
