Fiorina: Trump is the Kim Kardashian of politics

Cary Fiorina says Donald Trump reminds her of another reality TV star: Kim Kardashian.

“But honestly, Donald Trump reminds me of the Kim Kardashian of politics,” Fiorina said of the Republican frontrunner and former star of NBC’s “The Apprentice” franchise show. Both public figures, she said, are “famous for being famous, and the media plays along.”

She also warned that Trump is the wrong pick for Republicans because he divides people.

“Look, I don’t exactly think Esquire is an authority, but there is no doubt: Donald Trump is an extremely divisive candidate. That’s why he cannot win. That is why he cannot be our nominee,” the former Hewlett-Packard CEO said in an interview on “Fox and Friends” Tuesday morning, citing the cover of the February issue of Esquire that calls Trump the “hater in chief.”

Fiorina, who has seen a dip in support in the polls over the last few months, said she’s the only candidate who can take on Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.

“Well, yes. Women are angry,” she said, referring to an NBC News/SurveyMonkey/Esquire poll released this week that found white women are the angriest group at current events. “And let’s remember women are 53 percent of the vote. So we can’t nominate someone who routinely insults women.”

“Women are angry because more of them are living in poverty. Women are angry because they feel they’re losing power and control over their own lives,” she said. “Women are angry because they worry that their children don’t even know what the American dream is anymore. Women are angry because their health costs are going up. Yes, women are angry. And women are an incredibly important segment of the population that we need to win to win this election.”

In a RealClearPolitics average of polls to end 2015, Trump lead the field with 35 percentage points. Fiorina trailed in eighth places with 2.5 percentage points.
