Celebrities often come into D.C. with their crazy antics, but this weekend they made some Washingtonians particularly uncomfortable.
At the Alicia Keys concert Thursday night, opening act Robin Thicke gave a shout out to first lady Michelle Obama in her box seats at the Verizon Center. Thicke continued his rousing performance, including a suggestive act (specifically moans and hip thrusts) to his hits like “Sex Therapy,” an awkward scene for daughters Sasha and Malia, who were seated with their mother.
On Saturday night, comedian Chelsea Handler, star of the show “Chelsea Lately,” hurled F-bombs at her audience at DAR Constitution Hall. One audience member told Yeas & Nays the show got particularly uncomfortable when she spoke about her very personal “alone time” for 20 minutes.
Other stars spotted out and about: Lauren Conrad from MTV’s “The Hills” at a Fairfax Borders for a book signing of her latest, “Sweet Little Lies.” Also, comedian John Pinette and musical guest Jackson Browne were in town for the 2010 Leukemia Ball, D.C.’s largest nonpolitical black-tie gala. The event was expected to raise $3 million for blood cancer research, education and patient services.
