Giffords sits down with Diane Sawyer

Rep. Gabby Giffords, D-Ariz., will be speaking for the first time since an assassination attempt in January left her with a gunshot wound to the head. She’ll be talking with none other than ABC’s Diane Sawyer about her “difficult” road to recovery along with her husband, retired astronaut Mark Kelly, who praises his wife as “too tough to let this beat her,” and her mother, quoted in the interview as saying, “I think Gabby has a message now that exceeds the political one.” The feature – which coincides with the release of Giffords’ new memoir, “Gabby: A Story of Hope and Courage” — is set to air during a special edition of ABC’s “20/20” on Monday at 10 p.m.
