Jeb Bush stumps in Michigan

Former Republican Florida Gov. Jeb Bush will stump for the Republican governor of Michigan next month, fueling speculation that he may consider a run for the White House.

Tickets for the “Governor’s Gala” to raise money for Gov. Rick Snyder ’s reelection cost anywhere from $500 to $5,000, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Bush will be in Chicago on Sept. 18 next, stumping for Illinois gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner. He then heads back to Tampa for a major GOP fundraiser to benefit Senate candidates Tom Cotton in Arkansas, Joni Ernst in Iowa, Cory Gardner in Colorado, Monica Wehby in Oregon and Dan Sullivan in Alaska.

Bush has not yet said whether he may run for the White House in 2016, but if he does, he would be a strong contender in the Republican primary.

A RealClearPolitics average of polls puts him just behind New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
