Christie predicts final three GOP candidates

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie believes he will be one of the top three Republican candidates going in to next year’s convention.

Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt asked Christie Thursday night if he agrees the contest for GOP presidential nomination will come down to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and himself.

“I do, I do,” said Christie, ranked fifth in the Washington Examiner‘s presidential power rankings.

Christie credited his self-confidence to his performance in Tuesday’s CNN debate, “I think what folks saw on the stage on Tuesday night was that I am prepared to be the commander-in-chief of the United States military.”

The former federal prosecutor added he expects GOP front-runner Donald Trump to fall from his lead position and only end up winning the nomination as a wild card.
