Donald Trump is pretty sure he could have handled the Miss Universe Pageant better than those who ran it, and says there should be two winners after the host Steve Harvey accidentally crowned the wrong woman on Sunday night.
“What happened to the girl from Colombia was devastating,” Trump said on the mess up while speaking on NBC’s “Today” on Monday morning. He added that “things happen, it’s live television.”
Harvey accidentally gave the title to Miss Colombia, then had to apologize and give the crown over to Miss Philippines, shocking the audience and millions of viewers at home. Trump said the best answer would have been to make them both winners.
“I’ll tell you what I think I’d do … make them a co-winner,” Trump said. “I would recommend that they go, have a beautiful ceremony, and do a co-winner. I think something like that would work.”
.@MissUniverse final 3 on now. Great people, great new owner @IMG. WATCH.

Trump had taken full ownership of the Miss Universe Organization from NBC in September, before turning it around and selling it to WME-IMG.
