Denise Austin makes ’em sweat

Denise Austin proves that exercise produces endorphins — “America’s favorite fitness expert” was so pumped up and happy on Monday you couldn’t help but want what she’s having.

Speaking on a panel to celebrate the 10th anniversary of womenshealth.gov and the release of the handbook “The Healthy Woman,” the Northern Virginia resident got everyone at the Capitol Hill luncheon up and on their feet to follow her do what she does best — exercise.

“Come on, if you don’t squeeze it, no one else will,” Austin cheered to the female crowd while they did her butt clenching exercise. Austin got the group up from their lunches to lead them in a series of stretches, bends and isometric exercises.

The 52-year-old fitness maven (“all natural, baby” she informed us) who has served two terms on The President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports stressed the importance for woman to get daily exercise, something Rep. Gwen Moore, D-Wis., earlier admitted was something she was “never really good at.”

Austin was also joined by Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., who after just beating breast cancer clearly was passionate about women’s health and prevention.  But it was only Austin who went around to the crowd following her speech asking women to “feel my tummy” and poke her in the abs.
